The Puddle - Closed programme for early childhood education and care

Here is a program aimed at early childhood education, to which kindergartens can register their groups.

Weeks 40, 41, 43 and 44 | Culture Services I Pictures moving in a puddle! Animation workshop for preschoolers in Finnish| Duration: 90-120 min | Implementation: remote preparation and creating an animation on site |

The workshop (2h) will take place in the preschool groups’ own premises. Registration deadline: 15 September. We will organise a premiere of the animations on 20 November on the Child Rights Day in the Drama Hall of the Main Library. Week 40: 2.10.–6.10. | Puddle games | Vaasa City Sport Services|

In the different early childhood education units, traditional games are played, and new variations are created together with the children. Registration: henry.soderlund@vaasa.fi 0405862804.

 

 

2.-8.10. | Filmweek for pre-schoolers |

The filmweek is a national, free week of film education. Schools will get information of how to take part in the Filmweek by using online-material: https://www.elokuvaviikko.fi. Age recommendation: classes 0-9.

 

 

3.10. | Light painting workshops | 10:00-14:00 | Vamia´s media students | Drama Hall, Main Library, Kirjastonkatu 13 |

Painting with light is a magical technique, which opens up totally new dimensions to photographing. Make a booking for your own group/class and come and explore! Age recommendation: 3-12-year olds.

3.10/10.10/26.10/31.10/| Volcano workshop in Finnish | 9:00-10:00 | University of Vaasa / LUMA Centre Ostrobothnia | University of Vaasa, Technobotnia building, class TF4111, Puuvillakuja 3 |

A volcano workshop combining science and art. Children will learn about volcanoes in an age-appropriate way. After the introduction, they work in pairs to make volcanoes. Also, a chemical experiment is carried out. The reaction causes the volcano to “erupt”! Age recommendation: 5–10-year-olds. | Workshop is in Finnish. 18.10. | Fairytale Day theatre tour at the theatre in Finnish | 9:30-12:30 | Vaasa City Theatre, Pitkäkatu 53 |

Fairytale Day theatre tours for kindergarten groups. A short 35-minute “tour through the exciting world of theatre”. Age recommendation: 5 years. Happy children and adults in colourful costumes celebrate the Lätäkkö to the rhythm of music.

24.10. | Singing session for the whole kindergarten | 9:20-10:30 | Palosaari kindergarten, Perämiehenkatu 20 |

The whole kindergarten will sing and play autumn songs and games together.
