Whisper of history - city sightseeing
Vaasa is a city full of history, culture, and stunning views waiting to be discovered. A city tour takes you on a journey through charming neighborhoods, iconic landmarks, and scenic surroundings.
Experience everything from Vaasa’s connection to Finland’s independence to its modern energy innovations, while enjoying the city’s unique atmosphere and coastal beauty
Palosaari was once the workers’ and seamen’s quarter of the city due to its proximity to the harbour and cotton factory. Now it is mostly a campus area for students and a melting point of the old and the new.
On the island of Vasklot, you’ll find the Port of Vaasa and Wärtsilä’s Sustainable Technology Hub, but the island also offers nature and seaside experiences for both tourists and Vaasa residents.
Close by in the city centre stand Vaasa prison and St. Nicolaus’ Orthodox Church, two important landmarks that have played a significant part in the history of Vaasa. In Old Vaasa it is possible to discover historical places dating back to the 13th century, as well as how the citizens live today.
A city sightseeing is the perfect way to discover what makes Vaasa so special!
