Bugsy workshop | Studio Puddle | Main library, Matilda space, Kirjastonkatu 13
Do you know Bugsy? Come to the library and make your own Bugsy. Bugsy loves swimming, exploring the archipelago and the Vaasa seascape. It also loves doing good deeds and making others happy. Making a Bugsy is easy, and everyone can create their own version.
TaiKon’s Bugsy workshop is open in Studio Puddle, in the library’s Matilda space during the Puddle month. Come and craft your own Bugsy any time the library is open.
Sea installation with jellyfishes | Studio Puddle | Main library, Matilda space, Kirjastonkatu 13
The three-dimensional jellyfish of TaiKon’s 6-8-year-old arts and crafts students and the marine soundscape and videos of TaiKon’s media art students of the groups of 9-11 and 11-15-year-old form a comprehensive art experience in Matilda-utrymme, where you can dive into a soothing underwater world.
The students’ work follow the principle of sustainable development, for example jellyfish are made from 100% waste.

Are you ready to face the water ghost and the puddle monster or help the lonely Momo Worm? Come and play the Puddle board game! The big Puddle board game can be played in Studio Puddle on your own, and two Puddle board games can be borrowed from the children’s and youth section of the library for home or school during the entire Puddle month, 1-31 October within the library’s opening hours.

Everyone loves to receive greetings, words of encouragement or a positive thought.
Bring joy to someone by writing or drawing greetings, words of encouragement, or a positive thought. After you put the mail in the bottle, you can take the mail to yourself from the bottle.
Lorunen rhyme-writing campaign | Main library, 1st floor, Kirjastonkatu 13
Open to all, for all ages! Rhyme about any big or small matters of childhood. When you´re done, drop your rhyme in the bucket. Happy rhyming!

What kind of things would you like to influence in Vaasa? – online survey for children and young people is launched on 1 October.
What kind of things would you, a child or young person from Vaasa, like to influence in Vaasa?
For example, are there things in your school, neighbourhood or leisure time that you would like to chance?

The survey is open from 1st to 31st October 2024 and it is implemented by TaiKon in cooperation with the Youth Services of the city of Vaasa. You can answer the survey anonymously and several times. The results will be published on World Children’s Day on November 2024.
Kanttorila's Strange Guest drawing competition | Vähänkyrö Library, Porinmäenkuja 1
Read the storybook “Kanttorilan kumma vieras” written by Tiina Hautala and illustrated by Marjo Nygård, which takes place in Vähänkyrö’s summer café, Cafe Kanttorila. What will Hanna and Pikkuvalakoonen come up with next? (book is written in Finnish).

An exhibition of the drawings will be put together in the library during November, and the jury will select the 3 best ones. Exciting prizes!
Kalle Kumpu gets new friends | Vähäkyrö Kirkkosaari
In the spring of 24, Vähäkyrö’s kindergartens 6 and 5 year olds groups planned a utility garden in Vähäkyrö’s Kirkkosaari. During Puddle weeks 40–44, Vähäkyrö’s first-graders and preschoolers arrive to implement their plans and plant apple and pear trees for Kalle Kumpu as friends. Come and admire the magic of growth!
