AR- Experiences

The museum has two AR experiences for phones and tablets. The games run through the Adobe Aero app, which works on all Apple phones and Android phones less than four years old that are AR-capable. The games require a fairly large play area, but you can play them anywhere with a QR code and an internet connection, for example in the front yard of the Museum of Ostrobothnia.

Hedman’s mystery game, an Escape room style puzzle solving game

The Museum of Ostrobothnia has opened a renewed exhibition , and while surveying the new objects, they discovered that Hedman’s notes provided clues to the location of a curious small ceramic object that the museum would like to display. Would you help the museum workers find it?

The museum’s AR tour, where you can see the floor plans above in an AR world

The app lets you explore the building and floors of the Museum of Ostrobothnia, including exhibitions, facilities and information on accessibility before entering the museum.

Instructions for the games:

  1. Scan the QR-code with your phone and it should open the Adobe Aero link (The app doesn’t work on all phones, but Apple products and phones less than 4 years old that can run AR will work) Depending on your phone, you can use the Appclip or Google Play instant app, which doesn’t require you to download any app.
  2. When starting the game move the camera towards the floor to scan it, you can also move yourself freely. After this the blue square is on the ground, you can position the square in a good spot by moving your phone and scan more ground if needed. When you are happy with the position of the square, press the screen to lock and start the experience
