Community in a happy carnival spirit – The night of the arts will see a carnival procession for the first time
This year, in addition to the traditional program, Vaasa will see a carnival parade for the first time. Its purpose is to strengthen the sense of community and celebrate the city’s diversity. With the carnival, the city becomes a public performance stage, where different art forms, cultures and groups come together.

Success through experimentation at Mielle ry – “Different forms of art, creative self-expression and well-being support each other”
Mielle ry participates to the Night of the Arts as part of the carnival procession. For the duration of the event, the city train Lilliputti, known from the streets of Vaasa, will wear a carnival costume in accordance with the theme. The different social rehabilitation units, Mahis, Komppis and Spurtti, have worked together to build a colorful entity that reflects the spirit and special characteristics of Vaasa. On the roof of the train you can see, among other things, the sun, seagulls and Vaasa’s county stone granite.
