Go skiing in the Vaasa region

Versatile activities on Öjberget
About 10 kilometers from the center of Vaasa is the winter sports center Öjberget, where you can ski downhill as well as cross country. You can choose between 3, 4 and 5 kilometer long illuminated tracks. The terrain is interesting and varied, and sure to bring out the sweat. Right next to the slope and the long tracks, there is also a smooth practice track and a fast-paced toboggan run for the youngest in the family. In addition to the three larger slopes, there is also a beginner slope with a carpet lift. There is a barbecue roof in the area, where you can grill sausages and enjoy lunch between rides. There is also a cafeteria where you can buy something to eat and hot drinks.
Competition atmosphere in Vörå ski center
Vörå skidcentrum (Vörå ski center) is situated approximately 30 kilometers from the center of Vaasa. In Vörå, there are excellent conditions for skiing both downhill and along tracks. The approximately 3 kilometer long lighted track offers opportunities for both classic and free style skiing. Here you can give yourself a proper challenge in an environment known from the Finnish Cup (Finnish championships in skiing).
The scenic Vargberget in Närpes
South of Vaasa in Närpes is Vargberget with 7.5 kilometers of illuminated ski trails. In the fine and scenic surroundings, you can enjoy making your way through the tracks for both classic and free style. During winters with good snow conditions, you can also take a longer 12 kilometer tour. This trail is not lit, but when getting closer to the spring, there is already natural light well into the evening. In addition to the versatile trail network, the area also has a brand new biathlon stadium. So there is nothing wrong with the facilities!
