Winter activities

Even in winter, there is plenty to do in the Vaasa Region. Treat yourself to a break from everyday life, make a good food bag and go out and enjoy nature or the sled hills. Here are some tips on outdoor activities as well as some ideas for those who like to stay indoors.

Water Park Tropiclandia

A day in the world of hot tubs, water slides, and saunas is sure to lift the spirits of the whole family. Here, you'll find the highest temperatures of the winter holiday—always over 30 degrees Celsius!

Wasa Up

The winter holiday is a great time to try something completely new, like climbing together as a family. No prior climbing experience or personal equipment is needed—just comfortable clothing and a sense of curiosity!

The Club billiard

If you're traveling with older children, this is the perfect evening activity. At The Club Billiard, you can challenge each other in a real billiard tournament, guided by The Club's host.

Visit a museum where history feels almost within reach

The natural science exhibition Terranova showcases the unique nature of our region—inside the Ice Age simulator, you can experience firsthand how a glacier forms moraine ridges as it melts.

Play the Kvarken's Sea Monster – Escape Game

Experience the Kvarken Archipelago World Heritage in a new way and play the escape game at the World Heritage Gateway Visitor Centre in Replot! In the winter season, we ask the customers to book the game from the visitor center office (phone +358 50 3466 200, email info@kvarken.fi).

Winter-leave at Stundars museum village in Solf

The museum village is open during the winter-leave from Monday 24th to Friday 28th of February. You can bring your own sleigh or bum sled. At the same time our play areas will be open. We will also keep a fire going at the barbecue spot, so feel free to bring sausage and your own picknick.

Visit Aava Kerttu Pet farm

The pet farm is open during the winter holidays 24.2-2.3.2025 Mon-Sun 10-16. The old rural environment and the friendly pets, as well as the beautiful and unique World Heritage nature, are close and present.
