SILTA - Työllisyyden yhdyssilta Pohjanmaa BRO- Sysselsättningens kontaktbro i Österbotten

The SILTA project is based on the strategic goals of the City of Vaasa and its surrounding municipalities. The main objective is to reduce long-term unemployment and improve the availability of qualified labor and labor market matching. The project aims to accelerate employment by directing jobseekers straight to workplaces or, if necessary, to transition labor markets.
To strengthen labor availability, the project will develop measures to promote the integration of international students, individuals with partial work capacity, long-term unemployed persons, and other individuals in need of special support into the regional labor market. The goal is to enhance language skills, professional competence, and facilitate a faster transition into working life. Special attention will be given to individuals for whom finding the first job or returning to the labor market may be challenging. These groups include individuals with partial work capacity and long-term unemployed persons, whose employment opportunities the project seeks to improve. The project promotes employment by providing tailored recruitment services, targeted marketing for jobseekers, and a “one-stop-shop” approach that facilitates access to services for both jobseekers and employers.
The project’s success relies on close cooperation with businesses across all its sectors. Special emphasis is placed on enhancing the recruitment readiness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through cooperation with educational institutions, national and international marketing of job opportunities, and partnerships with private employment agencies. Throughout the project, the employment ecosystem in the Vaasa region will be developed and strengthened by aligning the activities of municipalities, the Wellbeing Services County of Ostrobothnia, educational organizations, development companies, businesses, and the transition labor market. The overall goal of this collaboration is to promote employment, skills development, wellbeing, and entrepreneurship in the region.
The SILTA project is implemented in three work packages:
1. Networking and Competence Development: Strengthened regional cooperation and the development of stakeholders’ competencies to streamline employment processes and improve the availability of qualified labor. The project builds on and further develops the groundwork laid in previous projects, such as the TEO Project (ESF).

2. Accelerated Access to Employment and Re-Entry into the Labor Market: Measures to reduce imbalances between labor supply and the business sector, and to support a faster transition to the labor market.

3. Promoting Employment for Immigrants: Targeted measures to facilitate the rapid integration of immigrants into the labor force and their entry into the Finnish labor market.
The SILTA project aims to create sustainable structures and models that foster long-term employment and enhance labor market efficiency. The project seeks to establish a strong foundation for regional employment solutions, particularly for groups facing difficulties in entering the labor market, such as individuals with partial work capacity, long-term unemployed persons, and immigrants.
