SILTA - Työllisyyden yhdyssilta Pohjanmaa BRO- Sysselsättningens kontaktbro i Österbotten

Project is based on the strategies of city of Vaasa and the neighbouring municipalities. The
aim is to reduce long time unemployment in the region through self-directing to jobs and
for intermediate labour market and to help companies to find competent personnel. To get
competent personnel we need tools to strengthen the employment of foreign students and
develop the language skills, vocational collage studies and the fasten employment. Persons
coming first time/ returning to labour market is often challenging as well as finding jobs for
persons with partial working ability. We must develop the cooperation with actors in the business
sector. This way we can promote companies, especially small and medium sized companies,
to employ persons in the target group. The means for this development are cooperation
with educational institutes, national and international marketing of workspaces in the region,
companionship with private head-hunters, tailormade employment services for companies
according to their needs, targeted marketing of personnel to companies and one stop services
to workforce and to companies in the region. During the project The ecosystem of employment
in Vaasa coordinates municipalities, wellbeing region, educational institutes, developing
companies and the activities in the region to improve employment, competences, wellbeing and
entrepreneurship.
The project includes three different working packages:
1) Strenghen the skills of the regional network and actors, increase the cooperation to enable
faster employment and ensure that companies get skilled working force
2) Faster return to workinglife/for people entering the job market for first time. Decrease
employment mismatch
3) Fasten employment for from foreign origin
