Youth Work Week in Vaasa: rock, cooking, nature trip and much more

During the Youth Work Week, the City of Vaasa Youth Services will organise various events, such as a games tournament, a nature trip, open house at Rokkikoulu, a cooking evening, and discussion events. The youth centres, skate park, and Café Kultsa will be open as usual throughout the week.

Programme:

Monday, 7 October

• ‘Update on outreach youth work’ event at Kyrölä Youth Centre from 13–16. Presentation of the activities of outreach youth work and coffee. Open to all
• Smash games tournament at Café Kultsa from 17–20. For young people

Tuesday, 8 October

• ‘Kultsa fair’ outside Kultsa from 10.30–12.30. A presentation of the activities of the youth services, as well as a Youth Council information point on operating grants. Juice and biscuits! Open to all

Wednesday, 9 October

• Open house at Rokkikoulu rock school from 15–18. Open to all

• Open Stage at Café Kultsa from 16–18. Would you like to perform? The stage is open! For young people

• The Rainbow Group is organising a cooking evening at the Sumppu youth centre from 17–20. For young people

Thursday 10 October

• Youth Museum Team, the Ostrobothnian Museum at 15. For young people

• ‘What is outreach youth work?’ discussion at Café Kultsa from 17–19. The programme will include live music, a lecture by peer expert Emmi & a panel discussion. The panel discussion will focus on the impact of youth work and peer support on the lives of young people. Open to all

Friday, 11 October

• ‘You can draw if you have chalk!’ Chalk street art at Ristikka youth centre from 17–21. For young people

• Disco at Kyrölä youth centre from 18–21. For young people

Saturday, 12 October

• Nature hike and barbecue at Pilvilampi (Närvänmutka grill shelter) at 18.30–20.30. For young people
