Youth guidance and advice services now under one roof
Published: 7.1.2025
The guidance and advice services offered to young people by the City of Vaasa have moved under one roof. Starting from 7 January 2025, outreach youth work, the Reimari youth information and guidance service, and Ohjaamo Vaasa will all be available at Raastuvankatu 30.
From now on, the yellow wooden house at Raastuvankatu 30 will house three multidisciplinary information and guidance services for people under the age of 30.
– We offer a wide range of information, advice, guidance, and services on issues related to young people’s lives, says Kirsi Päivinen, Service Manager.
The building is accessible, and its opening hours are Monday to Thursday 10–16, and Friday 10–15.
Outreach youth work
Outreach youth work offers young people under 29 the opportunity for personal guidance and support.
Outreach youth workers primarily support young people who are not in education or employment, as well as those who want support in planning their future and managing everyday matters.
The services are voluntary, free of charge, and confidential.
– We do not require a referral. Anyone can contact us if they have concerns about a young person after discussing it with them – the young person themselves, their parents, or another person close to them, says Ulrika Luhtala, Team Leader with Vaasa’s outreach youth work.
You can contact Vaasa’s outreach youth work via social media, phone, e-mail, or online services. You can also visit in person to have a chat.
Reimari youth information and guidance service
The staff at Reimari provide young people with guidance, information, and advice on various issues related to their lives.
– We support young people’s independence and life management skills. Reimari provides support with summer job applications and information about various leisure activities, for example. If you have any questions or concerns, or just need someone to talk to, feel free to stop by, encourages Christer Blomqvist, Youth Information Officer.
You can also contact Reimari via chat (www.reimari.finfo).
Ohjaamo Vaasa
Ohjaamo Vaasa is a low-threshold service for young people and young adults under 30 years of age. No referral is required.
– At Ohjaamo, young people can address several different matters in one visit, such as meeting with social advisors and employment experts. Ohjaamo also offers support for situations related to studying, education, and financial management, Päivinen says.
You can also take care off KELA matters on a daily basis in Ohjaamo.
