We are giving away free tree saplings

Over the coming years, 70,000 new trees will be planted in Vaasa. Residents, communities, and companies are invited to join the planting effort. We will be giving away free tree saplings on Thursday, September 5th, from 15:30 to 17:30 at the Vaasa City Garden, located at Rantamaantie 5.
One sapling will be given per family member, and the trees must be planted on your own property. The available species are spruce, pine, and silver birch. The number of saplings is limited.
The “A Tree for Every Resident” project started this spring and will continue until the end of 2027. A total of 70,000 trees will be planted as part of the project, which means approximately 17,500 saplings will be planted each year.
