Vaasa City Museums moves to a shared online service
Published: 29.2.2024
Vaasa City Museums will transition to vaasa.fi online service, a shared platform for all Vaasa’s museums. Vaasa’s diverse range of museums will thus be accessible at vaasamuseums.fi.
The new website collects information on, for example, exhibitions, events, and practicalities of visiting the museums in one place.
– We have curated content tailored to various target groups, including a dedicated section for families visiting museums with children, says Leena Nyqvist, audience engagement manager.
The extensive collections and regional activities of the museums, as the responsibility museum of the Ostrobothnia region, will also be highlighted on the website.
– As the responsibility museum of the region, we have an important statutory duty to develop activities related to art and cultural heritage in the region and to advise and promote cooperation as an authority, says Museum Director Elina Bonelius.
More attractive and visible services
With the website redesign, the museums’ visual identity has also been updated to align with the Vaasa city brand identity.
– Both updates enhance attractiveness and visibility. By working together on the shared vaasa.fi platform, we aim to reach a larger audience, and the unified brand identity benefits all stakeholders. The goal has been to create an appealing, recognizable, and future-oriented platform, says Vaasa City’s Director of Communications and Marketing, Leena Forsén.
The museums will move from a separate website to the shared vaasa.fi service. With this update, all cultural institutions of Vaasa City are now accessible via a single platform.
