Registration Now Open for the Feasta Band Marathon!

Now in its third year, the Feasta Band Marathon aims to showcase the diverse range of music played by artists and bands in Vaasa and its neighbouring regions across various genres. Scheduled for May 24–25, 2024, from 18:00 to 22:30, the event will be held at the Ritz venue located at Kirkkopuistikko 22, Vaasa.

New talents seeking to engage the Vaasa audience are welcomed, particularly bands or artists creating their own original music.

Interested participants are invited to register by April 28 via email at max.backman@vaasa.fi. Registrants are required to provide a stage map, a music sample, comprehensive details about the band or artist, and a promotional photograph. Additionally, performers can specify their preferred date and time for their performance. Organisers will inform all registered participants about the artists and bands who were allocated a slot.

Six band each night

During the event, six bands or artists will perform each night, with performances spanning half-hour slots. A brief 15-minute intermission will punctuate the performances.

– To facilitate smooth transitions between acts, the stage will be equipped with fixed drums and sound equipment. Technical support will be provided by the Ritz’s sound mixer and lighting technician, who are receptive to performers’ preferences and hopes to hear about them in advance, tips the event coordinator Max Bäckman.

Moreover, the event will be recorded using multi-track audio and multiple video cameras. The recordings will be used for promotional purposes, and the performers will receive raw footage of their own performances and are free to use them freely.

Open to the public, the Feasta Band Marathon offers networking opportunities for bands and artists. The event is presented by the Cultural Services of the City of Vaasa in collaboration with Ritz and Volume.

Entrance to the event is free-of-charge, and attendees can enjoy refreshments from the Ritz bar throughout the evening.
