Registration for TaiKon’s summer camp begins on March 10

Vaasa’s basic education in the arts provider, TaiKon, will organise the Art at the Barracks summer camp for children in grades 1 to 6 in June. Registration for the camp starts on March 10.
The Art at the Barracks camp will run from 2 to 13 June 2025 at TaiKon’s premises in the Barracks area. Registration opens on Monday, 10 March 2025, at 10.00.

Explore up to nine different art forms
The camp is bilingual, with classes held in both Finnish and Swedish. Participants will have the chance to explore up to nine different art forms in workshops, using a variety of materials and techniques. The subjects will be taught by TaiKon’s experienced art teachers.
The camp is intended for primary school students in years 1 to 6, divided into two age groups: 7–9-year-olds and 10–13-year-olds. Supervised afternoon care until 16.00 is available for children born in 2015–2017. The camp fee is €125, or €180 with afternoon care.
More camps are coming, including graffiti, music, and sports
The City of Vaasa’s Sports and Youth Services also organise summer camps for children and youth. Information about these camps will be provided later on the City of Vaasa’s website, social media channels, and Wilma.
- In June 2025, the Youth Services will organise a skateboarding camp, a graffiti camp, a music camp, a multi-activity camp, and an animal camp for children and young people.
- In June 2025, the Sports Services will organise Hoppis sports camps for children in grades 1 to 6.
