Museum opening hours to change in June

Starting in June, the Ostrobothnian Museum, the Tikanoja Art Museum, the Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art, and the Old Vaasa Museum will be closed on Tuesdays. On other days, the museums will remain open from Wednesday to Sunday.
As part of the City of Vaasa’s financial balancing programme, the Vaasa Museums, which include the Ostrobothnian Museum, the Tikanoja Art Museum, the Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art, and the Old Vaasa Museum, will be closed on Tuesdays. This change will take effect from June 1, 2024.
Previously, the museums were closed on Mondays. With this change, the museums will now be closed on two days: Monday and Tuesday.
On other days, the museums will remain open from Wednesday to Sunday as follows:
- Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art: 10:00–17:00
- Ostrobothnian Museum: 10:00–17:00
- Tikanoja Art Museum: 10:00–17:00
- Old Vaasa Museum: 10:00–17:00 (open from 1st June to 31st August 2024)
The City of Vaasa is currently implementing a financial balancing programme with the aim of saving approximately 40 million euros over the years 2024–2027.
