Journalist and writer meeting in Vaasa - Yle’s foreign journalist Maxim Fedorov at the Museum of Ostrobothnia on Thursday 25 January at 15.30–16.45

Welcome to a meeting with a journalist and author to talk about Ukraine and the situation in Ukraine as reported by Maxim Fedorov.
St Petersburg-born Maxim Fedorov, a journalist for the Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE), has been closely following the Ukrainians’ struggle against Russian aggression since May 2022. Last autumn he published his debut novel My Ukraine, which gives the reader an insight into life in wartime Ukraine.
In the meeting, Fedorov talks about his work as a journalist in wartime Ukraine and his first book, as well as his second book, also about Ukraine, which he is currently working on.
Questions to the journalist will be open to the audience at the end of the event.
Maxim Fedorov is a journalist who joined the Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE) when the company launched its Russian-language news service in 2013. After Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, he moved to Ukraine as one of YLE’s foreign correspondents. Fedorov has also been a journalist at the German Deutsche Welle since 2013.
A photo exhibition on the first year of the Ukrainian war will also open in the Vaasa Market Hall on 1 February 2024 and will be open until 30 March 2024. The exhibition is based on the work of an international team of photographers and the book Ukraine: A War Crime.
