Join a guided exhibition tour at the museum with culture companions

During the spring, Vaasa museums will host public tours of their exhibitions, led by experts. Culture companions will also attend, serving as peer guides familiar with the local cultural offerings. Anyone can invite them to join in exploring different cultural events and destinations.
The Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art will host a curator-led tour in Swedish on Wednesday, 22 January at 15, guided by Museum Curator Janna Sirén. The tour will feature Swedish artist Meta Isæus-Berlin’s art and her works displayed in the exhibition The Philosopher (Filosofi).
The Ostrobothnian Museum will organise an expert-led tour in Finnish of the exhibition Forests of the North Wind on Thursday, 20 February at 15. Museum curator Noora Lehtovuori will lead the tour, showcasing the works of award-winning photographers Ritva Kovalainen and Sanni Seppo, focusing on natural forests.
Traditional public tours with culture companions will explore the Eero Järnefelt exhibition at the Tikanoja Art Museum on 20 March from 13 to 15, and 17 May from 13 to 17, as well as at the Ostrobothnian Museum on 19 April from 15 to 16.30.
– With this initiative, we wish to highlight the various opportunities to access cultural services with a low threshold. Culture companions serve as fellow visitors in local museums, art exhibitions, theatres, music performances, or elsewhere, says Leena Nyqvist, Head of Public Engagement.
