High number of performers sign up for night of the arts

More than 170 performers have signed up for the city event loved by the people of Vaasa. This year, a significantly higher number of registrations have been received compared to last year, which has pleased the city’s Cultural Services team, which is coordinating the big event.

There are local bands performing on the Night of the Arts, groups participating in the carnival procession as well as dance troupes and various actors creating special performances for the event.

A new venue for performances is Volume’s stage at Rockwersta’s yard on Myllykatu. This year, some of the bands that signed up for the Night of the Arts will perform not only on the market square stage but also on the stage at Ritz.

Caravan of joy carnival procession

This year’s Night of the Arts programme includes a carnival procession, in which local companies, associations and other city actors participate. The caravan of joy carnival procession moves around the city centre. Ten different dancing groups have signed up for the carnival procession.

The carnival theme aptly emphasises the transformation of the urban space into a kind of public performance, where different art forms take place.

The Night of the Arts programme will be completed by the end of July.
