Vaasa will be filled with energy experts during EnergyWeek in March
Published: 11.3.2025
This year’s EnergyWeek will take place from March 17–20, featuring both familiar themes and new additions to the program. The event continues to grow, offering more expert seminars and involving more key players in creating relevant content for thousands of participants. Visitor registration opened in mid-January and has seen a high number of sign-ups from the start.
EnergyWeek is now in its 13th edition and has become the most significant networking and sales event in the Nordic region for local, national, and international professionals in the energy sector. Over the course of four days, the event will feature 29 seminars with more than 190 speakers and approximately 200 exhibitors.
– Vaasa City Hall will be filled with participants from dozens of different countries, and the exhibition spaces are nearly fully booked. With so many seminars in the program, we are close to reaching maximum capacity, and something will be happening in every room at all times—including the Art Hall, which has a separate entrance in City Hall, says Kristoffer Jansson, Brand & Communication Manager at EnergyVaasa.
– EnergyWeek is unique because its content is created by around 40 different organizations, all contributing fresh perspectives on sustainable energy, innovations, and market opportunities. This year’s program also introduces several new angles, as new participants have joined in to add their insights, Jansson continues.
European Markets and the sustainable energy of the future
EnergyWeek traditionally kicks off on Monday with the Energy and Climate Seminar, which is now in its 20th year. This year’s seminar is titled “Are Climate Goals and Investments Slipping Away? – Finland’s Industrial Policy as Part of Europe’s Industrial and Subsidy Policy”. The afternoon discussions will focus on how the EU’s industrial and subsidy policies influence Finland’s policies and business environment.
The week then continues with its popular main themes: wind and renewable energy on Tuesday, energy storage on Wednesday and Clean gas energy on Thursday. A recurring topic throughout this year’s seminars is international cooperation and opportunities, particularly within Europe. Other themes visitors can expect include circular economy, hydrogen economy, cybersecurity, AI in data centers, innovative energy technologies, and the future workforce.
This year, at the Circular Economy Seminar, we will explore how cities around the world are embracing the circular economy. Naturally, the 2026 winner of the European Green Leaf Award – the City of Vaasa – will also be there sharing facts about their successful programme.

– The matchmaking area is open throughout the day for three days, and there are still plenty of opportunities to schedule meetings in advance. It’s an efficient way to connect with relevant contacts away from the hectic exhibition area. We also recommend reviewing the program beforehand and arriving early for the seminars of interest to ensure a seat in the audience, Jansson advises.
- Vaasa EnergyWeek is a four-day event organised collaboratively by about fourty organisations. EnergyVaasa and Vaasa Region Development Company VASEK are the main coordinators of the event.
- Except for the Energy and Climate Seminar on Monday, which is organized in Finnish, EnergyWeek will be held entirely in English.
- EnergyVaasa is the largest energy technology hub in the Nordic countries and includes companies that develop sustainable, energy-saving technological solutions that reduce emissions. EnergyVaasa includes more than 180 companies with more than 13,000 employees in total.
