Electronic ECEC decisions now also apply to service voucher daycare centres
Published: 14.2.2025
The City of Vaasa’s Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) uses the Edlevo system for tasks such as reporting care times and publishing decisions. Now, also guardians of children in service voucher daycare centres can receive electronic decisions regarding their child’s early childhood education and care directly through Edlevo.
In addition to municipal daycare centres, there are also private daycare centres in Vaasa, approved as service providers by the City of Vaasa. These are called service voucher daycare centres.
Electronic service and payment decisions have been available through the Edlevo system for the city’s own daycare centres since May 2024. Now, electronic service decisions and service voucher decisions are also available for service voucher daycare centres.
From letters to electronic decisions
As a result of the reform, guardians of children in service voucher daycare centres will also be able to receive service decisions and service voucher decisions directly through Edlevo. Edlevo will send a notification of a new decision to the guardian’s email. Previously, decisions were sent to guardians by post.
Edlevo is available both as a web browser version and as a mobile app (Edlevo App).
If a guardian does not wish to receive electronic decisions, they should inform the Early Childhood Education Service Coordination.
Access via suomi.fi authentication
Edlevo App requires strong authentication, meaning users must log in through the suomi.fi identification system. If the guardian does not have access to strong authentication, or if they have opted out of receiving electronic decisions, the decisions will be sent by post.
New functionalities will be added to Edlevo throughout 2025, including the electronic submission of income information, for example. Guardians will be informed separately about the introduction of these new functionalities.
