Earth Hour is a global event open to all, aimed at raising environmental awareness. During Earth Hour, all non-essential lights are switched off as a symbolic gesture of commitment to the planet and climate action. Lights will also be switched off in Vaasa on 22 March 2025.
On Saturday, 22 March 2025, people around the world will turn off their non-essential lights from 20.30 to 21.30.
The City of Vaasa will participate in the event by reducing the lighting at the Market Square, the pedestrian street in the city centre, as well as on Senaatinkatu and Vaasanpuistikko.
Lights will also be turned off at the Town Hall, the Urban Environment Department building (former Technical Office), the Administrative Building, and the Lukio campus (Lyseon lukio and Vasa gymnasium).
