Advance voting in the second round of the presidential election 31 January - 6 February in Vaasa

There will be a second round of the presidential election as no candidate received more than half of the votes in the first round. The second round will be held between the two candidates with the highest number of votes. Advance voting will take place from 31 January to 6 February and the election day will be on Sunday 11 February.

The presidential election chooses the President of the Republic of Finland for a six-year term of office. The President is elected by direct election, if necessary, in two stages.

Every Finnish citizen, regardless of their place of residence, who has reached the age of 18 by the election day, is entitled to vote in the presidential election. Voters may vote either in advance or on election day, according to their choice.

Advance voting

Advance voters may vote at any public advance polling station in Finland or abroad. On the second round, advance voting will take place in Finland from 31 January to 6 February.

In Vaasa, you can vote in advance at 12 polling stations. There are several familiar locations around Vaasa, and the mobile polling station stops at four supermarkets.

Voting on election day

On the day of election, voters may cast their votes at the polling station in the voting register, named on the card sent to them before the elections.

Home voting

Home voting has been agreed with those who have registered to vote at home in the presidential election.

Institutional voting

Voting is also available for people living permanently in institutions. The institutions will be informed separately about the arrangements of advance voting in their facilities.
