Residents' associations and district councils
The inhabitants make the city. The Vaasa residents' associations are important experts and developers of their residential areas.
There are a number of active residents’ associations in the city of Vaasa whose aim is to create comfortable residential areas and a good community spirit.
The district councils assemble the resident associations into their own body. Vaasa has three district councils which meet 3-5 times a year to promote the common interests of the wider region.
For its part, the Advisory Committee for Residents’ Associations is a body for district councils and a subcommittee under the city board. It meets once a year to decide, among other issues, on grants to allocate to residents’ associations.
For more information about resident’s associations, please contact one of the local citizen service points or contact your Residents’ Association or District Council directly.
