The Swedish suburban sisters Laura, Mira and Steffi, seem to manage on their own, without parents. The everyday life of these present-day Pippi Longstockings is limitless and anarchic, and it is only the various rituals of growing up that punctuate the long summer days. When social services sense trouble and want to make a home visit, Laura must find someone to pretend to be their mother – or the girls will be taken from their home and separated.
