Christmas music from the the Nordic countries, Ukraine and the times of baroque and middle ages
The fascinating atmosphere of Christmas music is created by Sekakuoro Sirpaleet, Vaasan ylioppilaskuoro and Wasa Sinfonietta in a joint Christmas concert.
In the concert we will hear e.g. some impressive baroque music, Christmas carols from Ukraine and the Nordic countries, an Icelandic Christmas carol as a specialty. In the second half of the program, we get to enjoy the more traditional Finnish Christmas carols that everyone loves, such as Toivo Kuula’s
Joululaulu and Jean Sibelius’s En etsi valtaa loistoa.
The program has been put together and led by Anne Tienhaara, the director of Sekakuoro Sirpaleet , György Kadar, the director of Vaasan ylioppilaskuoro and Tarja Huntus, the director of Wasa Sinfonietta.
The concert is organized in cooperation with the finnish congregation of Vaasa.
