Featuring two legendary Hurriganes guitarists, Black Devils feat. Ile Kallio & Janne Louhivuori will play Hurriganes’ best hits and live favourites, without forgetting surprises. The 2024 concerts will celebrate not only the return of Ile Kallio to the band’s ranks, but also the studio album “Get Ready” (Emsalö Music), which was released on February 23, whose creative team includes, in addition to Ile, e.g. Richard Stanley, Costello Hautamäki and Janne Louhivuori.

“It’s great to go to gigs so that both Ile Kallio and Janne Louhivuori are there. We play Ganes’ best classics and we also focus on less frequently heard gems from the eras of Ile and Janne. Surprises are also traditionally part of our sets. The band’s goal is to respect the originals and create a time travelling experience for the listener, but with the new album, Ile and Janne’s eyes are also on the future. Welcome!”, says singer-drummer J-P Kakkola, who pilots Black Devils.

In addition to J-P Kakkola, Black Devils’ lineup includes Tero Salminen (bass) and Matti Kähkönen (guitar). In the next few years, the group has released live albums with both Ile Kallio and Janne Louhivuori, and previously also collaborated with Remu and Richard Stanley, who produced Hurriganes’ Roadrunner album. In 1971, according to what I heard, Black Devils was the candidate for the name Hurriganes, but in the end Remu came up with Johnny and the Hurricanes, and the rest is history.
