Original guitar trio expressing the vibrant Nordic sound and American jazz tradition.
Bäckström/Friman/Jensen (Fi/Dk) is a spontaneous meeting between the Finnish musicians Lassi Friman (guitar), Jonathan Bäckström (bass) and Danish drummer Jens Emil Jensen. Each of the musicians have made their mark on the local jazz scenes, as well as internationally, and with this trio they seek to create a new, exciting Nordic sound.
In their fall 2024 tour the trio will perform their upcoming debut album called Postcards which is a collection of 7 musical pieces written by all three band members. Each ”postcard” has its own little backstory, and is written at different time-periods and locations throughout the lives of Jonathan, Lassi and Jens Emil.
Every tune is a reflection on a specific memory, including big important moments and dedications to loved ones, as well as the small everyday life experiences that we sometimes overlook.
